A recent poll of Palestinian citizens commissioned by The Abraham Initiatives and conducted by Statnet Institute, a veteran pollster of Arab society in Israel, produced surprising results with significant implications for both political parties representing Palestinian citizens and Jewish political parties who may be open to partnership. Key findings include:

The Arab public want real political influence

  • 44% support participation in any government coalition
  • 33% support participation in a center-left government coalition
  • 12% support supporting the governing coalition from the outside
  • 30% name lack of impact as the top barrier to voting

The Arab public want their political representatives to join forces

  • 89% support forming a joint list of all four Arab political parties
  • 18% name division among Arab political parties as the top barrier to voting

Internal crime and violence remains the top issue on the Arab public’s agenda

  • 64% name eliminating crime and violence as Arab society’s most pressing issue
  • 25% name eliminating crime and violence as the top factor motivating their vote
